Messari Research is an institutional-level, crypto-native offering that excels with thesis driven research, protocol quarterly reporting, and complete Asset deep dives. Messari Analysts are critical thinkers, entrepreneurial, and data-driven. This allows them to go deep into first principles for unique ideas and interpretations, as well as objective reviews and analysis.

There are several types of reports available through Messari:

• Research Reports are timely, informative, and thesis driven reports that explore unique topics, valuations, ecosystems, sectors, and much more.
• Protocol Reporting partners directly with protocols to provide comprehensive overviews as well as quarterly reporting on how the project is evolving over time.
• Diligence Reports provide a full Asset profile in a standardized report structure so that you can quickly answer the most important questions that arise during asset analysis and comparison.

Research Video

Access Protocol Reports

Use the main navigation at the top of the Messari site to find the Research tab and select Protocol Reporting from the dropdown. The Explore page will highlight Protocol Reports alongside other Messari reports as well.

Filter Protocol Reports

The panel on the left of the Research page allows you to perform a keyword search or filter. Filtering is available by Asset/Watchlist, Authors, Research Tiers, and Tags.

• Asset/Watchlist: Filter for the assets that are most important to you.
• Author: Filter for your favorite Messari Analyst! This page contains links to their X (formerly Twitter) profile, allowing you to follow them for additional analysis.
• Research Tiers: Filter between Free, Pro, and Enterprise-level reports.
• Tags: Filter across themes, sectors, and more.

Find Protocol Reports

Use the icons in the top right corner to switch between the grid view and table view. The table view is sorted by date, provides links to the tagged assets and authors, and includes the subscription tier.

Listen to Protocol Reports

Both views contain the purple 🎧 icon that allows you to begin listening to a report. Or click on a report title to enter.

ClickingListen will start the audio player. Note the three dots icon on the player, which allows you to jump between chapters and adjust your volume or listening speed.

Navigate Protocol Reports

The Protocol Report page has a standardized display for ease of navigation.

• Key Insights are front and center to help you quickly review the key takeaways of the report.
• Table of Contents on the right to jump between sections relevant to you.
• Listen 🎧 button to hear the audio version of the report.
• About the Author section to view the author's other reports or give them a follow on X.
• Alert Me in the top right corner to set Research Alerts.
• Download PDF is available for select reports.

Feedback on Protocol Reports

There is a short form at the end of each Protocol Report that goes directly to the Messari Analyst team. We'd love to hear from you with questions, topics you'd like covered, or any feedback that can help us improve!

Research Alerts

Select Alert Me in the top right corner of the Research portal, in a Research Report, or on a Project page to activate Research Alerts. These alerts will be sent to the email address associated with your Messari login.

All Research Reports

Selecting All Research Reports will deliver all reports directly to your inbox. Note you can limit these alerts by subscription tier, including or excluding Free, Pro, or Enterprise Research.

Specific Research Reports

The Specific Research Reports option allows you to choose filters for your Research Alerts. Available Filters include by Asset, Watchlist, Author, or Tag.

Research Hot Tips and Best Practices

• Visit the Unqualified Opinions page for podcast episodes to supplement and expand on Research reports.
• Follow Messari analysts on X (formerly Twitter) for ongoing updates and additional insights.
• Be sure to subscribe to Research alerts to never miss a Research Report, Protocol Report, or Diligence Report.
• Use the 🎧 icon to listen to Reports on the go.
• Use the three dots icon in the audio player to adjust playback speed or jump between chapters in a report.

Research FAQs

What is the difference between Pro and Enterprise Reports?

Generally Pro reports will be shorter in length with timely and informative coverage across a broad range of topics. Enterprise reports will longer form, forward-looking deep dives such as sector maps or valuations with unique insights.

I am a Pro subscriber, how can I read a specific Enterprise report?

Enterprise reports are unlocked for Pro subscribers 90 days after the report release date. Please visit our pricing page to learn more.

Can I request Research coverage topics or specific reports?

The Messari Research team is always happy to take feedback on published reports or suggestions for future coverage. Please use the Contact Support form to submit.

How do I print to PDF?

Currently the Diligence reports and most Enterprise reports are available for PDF download, and you will see the download option in the top-right of the report page.
